CENTRE REGION MUNICIPAL PARK PAVILIONS
29 Picnic Pavilions are available
for Group Reservation Events
occurring
Sat., 13 Apr 2013 through Sun., 27 Oct 2013
(although some pavilions are available year-round!)
The 2013 pavilion reservation window opened on 2 Jan 2013.
The pavilions are very popular... during 2012 CRPR issued
827
pavilion reservations (for the 6 1/2 month season). |

The 2013 Pavilion Reservation Fee is $50 for a 3-hour time block, plus $10 for each additional hour up to a maximum fee of $100 per day. The event times and the fees are calculated upon total event times, including any setup and cleanup times.
• Payment-in-full is due at the time of making the reservation. The dates for unpaid reservations cannot be held. Visa, MasterCard, American Express & Discover cards are accepted by phone. A Certificate of Insurance is required for all non-family events. A receipt will be issued for all payments. The receipt does not indicate that the event is approved; a permit will be issued to the Group Representative when the reservation is approved by the agency. The permit should be taken to the park for the event.
• Permit Revision Fee: Once a permit is issued by the agency, any revisions (involving the site, date, time) to that reservation will require the payment of a $20 Revision Fee at the time the revision(s). An updated permit will then be issued. Permit revisions cannot be accepted less than 7 calendar days prior to the reserved event. The Revision Fee is not eligible for refund, transfer or credit.
• These permits are ONLY for picnic-type group activities for organizational or family events. This permit is not valid for commercial events or non-picnic events, such as any type of promotion, fundraiser or league tournaments AND require application for special permits. For the use of any municipal park, groups of over 100 must also obtain a Large Group Event Policy permit.
• A Pavilion Reservation Permit does not reserve or entitle the group to utilize baseball or softball fields, tennis courts, basketball courts, volleyball courts or play areas. A Sportfield Reservation System was established in 2008. If the group wishes to reserve a sportfield with a pavilion reservation, a Sportfield Reservation Fee of $15 per field will be payable (in addition to the Pavilion Fee and Large Group Event Fee, if applicable). If you elect to "take your chances" on the availability of a ballfield, the areas may be used by the pavilion group, but the group must immediately surrender use if a group arrives and presents a Sportfield Reservation Permit. |

However, electrical service is available for group uses at one location in the park (195' from Pavilion #1 and 140' from Pavilion #2). If electricity is requested, the $5 fee will apply.
Also ask about reserving a SPORT PACK for your 2013 event!
Pavilion Renters may also reserve a SPORT PACK for your park event. A "Sport Pack" is a duffle bag full of balls, bats, and picnic FUN. A limited number of Sport Packs are available from Memorial Day through Labor Day only.
- Offer one Sport Pack to groups for use at events with a paid pavilion reservation at no charge, with a security
deposit of $25/ group. If additional sport packs are required for the renting group, they may be rented per
below.
- Other groups may rent a sport pack for private or public uses at $10 each, plus a security deposit of $25/pack.
- If any item is missing from the sport bag upon return, the entire security deposit is forfeited.
1. REVISIONS, CANCELLATIONS AND RAINOUTS
PERMIT REVISIONS |
Once a permit is issued by the agency, any revisions (involving the site, date, time) to that reservation will require the payment of a $20 Permit Revision Fee at the time the revision(s). An updated permit will then be issued. Permit revisions cannot be accepted less than 7 calendar days prior to the reserved event. The Revision Fee is not eligible for refund, transfer or credit. |
CANCELLATIONS |
INCLEMENT WEATHER |
• Any cancellation 7 or more calendar days prior to the reserved time are eligible for a refund, credit, or transfer to another date or site (in the same year), except for the deduction of a $20 Service Fee. |
If rain, thunderstorm or high-wind conditions prohibit the scheduled use of the pavilion, a request must be submitted to the CRPR Office no later than 5:00 PM on the first business day after the reservation day. CRPR staff will attempt to reschedule the group at no additional charge during the current season, pending availability. If the pavilion schedules cannot accommodate a rescheduled date, a 50% refund or credit will be provided. |
• Any cancellation less than 7 calendar days prior to the reserved time are not eligible for a
refund, credit or transfer. |
"Please, let none who follow regret that your group was here."
|
CRPR OFFICE: (814) 231-3071, Weekdays 8:00 AM-5:00 PM.
|
• Standard fees are charged for the service of reserving a picnic pavilion or park facilities in advance. If the pavilion is not reserved in advance by another group, it may be used (without a reservation) at no charge by a “single-family group.” Reserving groups are entitled to sole occupancy of the rented pavilion.
• All facility reservations must be paid in full at the time of reservation; tentative reservations are not accepted.
• Proof of Liability Insurance for each non-family group event must be submitted prior to permit issuance.
• The event times and fees are calculated upon total event times, including any setup and cleanup times.
• In line with the municipal park ordinances and in order to protect park facilities, the agency requires a pavilion reservation for all “non-family” or “multiple-family” group requests for events at any municipal park site. In addition, staff is authorized (1) to direct a “catered event” (or any event that may involve private or commercial vehicle access to a pavilion) to a site best able to accommodate that access, and (2) to require a sufficient number of pavilion reservations to best accommodate the event. These policies represent an ongoing effort to protect both the park facilities and the visitor experience.
• Electrical service is optionally available at specified pavilions/parks with an additional fee of $5 per day.
• There is a $25 refundable security deposit for the key requested for limited vehicle access, if needed.
2. INTOXICATING BEVERAGES shall not be sold, possessed, distributed or consumed in any park. Individuals and groups violating this ordinance are subject to municipal citation and fines.
3. By municipal ordinance, all park activities must end at dusk except by a special permit from CRPR.
4. A 1-hour "Grace Period" for lateness is permitted. After this, the pavilion will be available for others to use, even if they do not have a permit. Please be accurate on times requested for your pavilion reservation.
5. Restrooms (or portable toilets) will be open and available during the times of your pavilion reservation.
6. No person shall scatter, dump, or leave litter in any portion of a park, except in the receptacles provided for that purpose. Please help keep Centre Region municipal parks clean.
7. Automobiles or other vehicles shall not be parked on any roadway or section of ground, except in areas designated for parking purposes, or driven on any areas other than designated roads within the park. Absolutely no parking or driving on the grass, on park paths, or blocking of traffic areas.
8. Click HERE for the rules about pets in the municipal parks.
9. LP-Gas Grills may be brought into the park, but (1) may not be operated inside any pavilion and (2) any transport vehicles must remain in the designated roads and lots. Other than in grills, no fires shall be set in any park, except as authorized by a special permit. To prevent a fire hazard and damage to tables, please do not place portable charcoal grills onto the picnic tables. Please place any charcoal ashes in the proper disposal can.
• Reserving a Sportfield with a pavilion: If a group requests a sportfield reservation for a pavilion event, a Sportfield Reservation Fee will apply.
• Other Municipal Parks and Pavilions: The pavilions listed at the sites below are available for unreserved, neighborhood group uses. Pending special event requests, reservations may be issued by CRPR for these pavilions - with conditions and the standard, authorized fees.

For these pavilions, staff is authorized to establish the permit conditions and the
applicable event fees (as specified in this policy) for non-family group uses requested for the parks and/or pavilions. Generally, these sites are not provided with facilities to host group events, therefore the permit conditions will seek to
accommodate both the neighborhood and the group event(s).
Group activity requests for other sites without pavilions may
also be considered for special event permits as may be approved by the CRPR Director. The permit conditions and the
applicable fees must remain compliant with the intent of this Fee Policy. This list does not include any single-table pavilions or the gazebos in the park system (such as Thompson Woods
Preserve, Nittany Orchard Park, Orchard Park, etc.).
