NOTICE TO PARK VISITORS

COMMERCIAL USES OF MUNICIPAL & REGIONAL PARKS 

Please note that all commercial activities in Centre Region municipal park areas (including the swimming pools, the nature center, the senior center and the Regional Parks) are prohibited except by special permit from the Centre Region Parks and Recreation Agency.  This includes soliciting, promoting or selling of goods or services, including:

  • Food & Refreshment Sales,
  • Classes / Instructions (including sport / fitness operations, commercial photography sessions),
  • Fundraising Events, etc.

Each participating municipality has established the following requirements as part of their Parks Ordinance:

  • "No person shall, in any park, exhibit, sell or offer for sale, hire, lease or let out any object, service or merchandise or anything whatsoever, whether corporeal or incorporeal, except under a permit from Centre Region Parks & Recreation Agency."
  • "No person shall solicit money, subscriptions or contributions for any purpose in any park unless authorized by permit from Centre Region Parks & Recreation Agency."

Commercial Permit proposals should be submitted at least 30 days in advance.

Written proposals should be directed to the Centre Region Parks & Recreation Authority Board at least 45 days prior to the date of any proposed commercial activity:

The written proposal must include all details regarding the requested:

  • Business Name, Principal's name, postal address and phone of the applicant(s),
  • site(s) and proposed commercial activity,
  • start/end dates,
  • start/end times,
  • specific facilities,
  • projected participant / enrollment counts,
  • fees charged to participants.

The permit fee will be based upon on the factors above. The duration of the permit may be valid for a maximum of 90 days, then a reapplication is required. Proof of Liability Insurance coverage and Municipal Business Licensing/ Registration will also be required upon payment of the Commercial Permit Fee and the issuance of each license/permit.
